Bend in Bloom: More Breweries and Bike Trails, with the Fall Season for Deals around the corner!
Posted by: Sara Gibson
Beer City USA Continues to Grow
With Central Oregon's population barely exceeding 100k, the breweries-per-capita ratio that marks Bend as 'Beer City USA' continues to sway the balance with 28 current craft breweries. Craft Kitchen and Brewery opened this summer in the Old Mill District, offering great food and ales to match! Keep an eye on The Brew Site or Beer Me Bend to stay in the loop on Bend's brewery scene and new breweries opening in the near future (e.g. Fresh Tracks Brewing!).
Accompanying Bend's many breweries are craft brew related events and festivals. The annual Bend Brewfest just concluded earlier this month, bringing over 170 selections of beer from breweries across the US. Coming up the first Friday and Saturday in September, the seventh annual Little Woody barrel aged brew fest takes place at Bend's historical society museum on the south end of downtown - if you enjoy the best in barrel aged craft brews, this is the event for you!
'Hop' on the Bend Brew Bus for a behind the scenes tour of select Bend breweries! Partnering with Wanderlust Tours, guests can add a tour aboard the Bend Brew Bus to any reservation at the Pine Ridge Inn and be picked up just outside our lobby door! Just inquire at the time of your reservation, or check at the front desk after settling into your room to learn more about this unique offering and adding a Bend Brew Bus tour to your stay at the Pine Ridge Inn.
High Alpine Adrenaline at the Mt. Bachelor Bike Park
Riding into their third full summer of operation, the Mt. Bachelor Bike Park has expanded and growing into one of the best downhill mountain bike destinations in the Northwest. The recent bike park expansion has grown into 13 miles of maintained single-track across a network of trails for different abilities, enhancing Bend as an already established destination mountain bike mecca. Don't have a DH bike with the uber-full-suspension? No worries - Gravity Sports at Mt. Bachelor has you covered with rentals for all the gear and featuring a full fleet of Norco bikes, along with lessons for beginners. Enjoy the bike park, scenic lift rides, and Sunset Dinners just up the road from the Pine Ridge Inn at Mt. Bachelor through this fall (note that the Bike Park stays open longer into the fall than Sunset Dinner, which generally concludes in early September after Labor Day)
As the leaves fall (and hopefully some snow), so do the prices!
Once the summer sizzle wanes and the leaves and temperatures begin to drop, deals abound at the Pine Ridge Inn. Value season kicks off this year following Columbus Day on October 12th when our suites begin renting at lower prices. New this fall, the Pine Ridge Inn will offer a FREE third night of lodging for reservations of two or more nights! Simply book by October 1st for any 2-night stays between October 12th and December 25th to receive a third night free - Click Here for details.
November is also the Bend Ale Trail month! Stay tuned for the special incentive being announced in the coming weeks for those finishing the Bend Ale Trail during the month of November, although the incentive is more of a bonus with the real treat in tasting and exploring some of the best craft beers and breweries in the West!
Also in the coming weeks, we’ll have updates on our winter offers featuring deals with Mt. Bachelor including the popular 'Ski Free, Stay Free' and 'Kids Ski Free' lodging and lift ticket packages. Early predictions are looking good for Mt. Bachelor! Check out NOAA’s most recent winter outlook for details, and we’ll see you when the snow flies and the lifts start turning. Until then – enjoy the rest of the summer season and the transition into another glorious fall in Central Oregon.
